Journalism Day 14- Quotes

Quotes are great ways to supplement the information in the story, offer opinion and add to the human aspect of a news piece.

Quotes should typically tell someone's point of view and be something that cannot be stated in a normal paragraph through facts. If someone includes something in a quote that can be used as a fact, find another portion of a quote to use.

This is the structure of a quote you should always stick to:

Single Sentence Quote

"It was a great experience," Ms. Johnson said.

Multiple Sentence quote

"It was a great experience," Ms. Johnson said, "and we will be returning next year."

I will give you a made-up quote at the end of class. In the text box below, write the quote in the correct way we have discussed today.
